To apply for Life Cover online, you'll need to be an existing HSBC customer and registered for HSBC Internet Banking, and hold a HSBC bank account from which you'll make your monthly payments by direct debit.

  • You must be a UK resident. (Not including the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man)
  • 17 or over and under 70 years of age.
  • Cover must cease before your 80th birthday.

Unfortunately, you can't apply for Critical Illness or Income Cover online at the moment. Before you visit your local branch it's worth checking you meet the eligibility requirements which are:

  • 17 or over and under 65 years of age.
  • Cover must cease before your 70th birthday.
  • 17 or over and under 60 years of age.
  • Cover must cease before your 68th birthday.
  • In paid employment for more than 16 hours a week including self employment.
