Can you insure two cars under one name

G-ZUS
Hey guys I have my own insurance policy with no one on it. Is it possible to have 2 cars on my insurance policy. ie, 1 as a daily driver and 1 has a casual vehicle ( much cheaper to insure).

I have 2 vehicles insured under my name. And even, though I can physically only drive one vehicle at a time, I pay the same rate for both :(

The more cars you have with the same company should reduce your rates. Also your house/rent insurance will give you a reduction as well. If your not getting a deal for multiple policies call a different insurance company.

If you are not on the GRID system, the second vehicle will generate a 10% - 15% multi-vehicle discount on both cars. As well, the base price of the second car should be a little cheaper being that it's rated for pleasure only. However if the second vehicle is a new Corvette and your first one is a busted up POS, obviously you'll still pay more for the new car.

The only vehicles that are really cheap to insure are ones that qualify for classic / collector car status. Those come with a whole bunch of restrictions though.

The first is My 95 Civic and the pleasure one will be a 91 Mercedes 300E

I have two cars and it's not big deal to insure :)

When I had my s2000, and added on my civic, my insurance payments actually went down as they used my civic as my primary vehicle and set my s2000 as my pleasure vehicle.

I have 2 cars, my golf, daily driver full coverage, and my 951, toy car, comprehensive/plpd only, limited to 12,000km/year

Adding the 951 got me a 15% discount on my golf, then 15% on the 951, thats 15% off of a reduced miles pleasure use only policy, so it's well under $100/month to insure it, less once you factor in what it saved me on the golf.

I'm just about 23, married, just shy of 7 years with no tickets or at-fault's. I am not paying anywhere near grid rates.

If you don't drive the car to work and can do a limited mileage policy it should save some cash. If you're still on the grid system, I don't believe a discount is required and you probably won't get one.

With Meloche Monnex, when you insure 2 vehicles, a discount of 15% is applied to both premiums. thumbsup:

I have an Altima and my 240sx on the same plan but I only have to pay for the more expensive car to cover. My agent said that they don't double dip lol.

I thought you HAVE to insure your two cars with one company. Can you use 2 companies if you want.

I've had 3 cars insured at the same time, and I don't think I got a discount. I think it just depends on the company.

That makes sense. I don't see how they can charge you for 2 cars if you can only drive one at a time.

1 driver.
Do any of your guys' companies require some sort of safety inspection on older cars?
